Looking on the bright side of The Fan

Well, if there is one good thing that has come of the 105.3 flip, it looks as if Pete Stein has landed another show. Of all the people that got screwed out of the Dave Schum/990, Pete got it the worst. The guy got hired at 990 and quit his full time job...to never see a 990 paycheck. Pete's not the best broacaster in town, but he's a great guy...going as far back as Dallas Sidekicks Soccer...good guy.

Maybe he is a great guy, but he is a joke of a host! Come on people, you can't do better than the weekend guys at the Ticket? I hope they are planning on bringing in some real hosts....

Dallas-Fort Worth/Re: Looking on the bright side of The Fan

Wow...it never fails to amaze me how big of a ****** people can be on here. Come on, man...have a little class...

The guys at The Ticket must be laughin their collective asses off.
Sure 105.3 has a better signal. But what does it matter if there is no content.

Even when they get excited talking about sports, Ben & Skin are dead boring.

Hell. Bring back Mike Fisher! At least hes fun to listen to.

I agree, bring back Fisher. I would take Fisher over Pete Stein or Greg Hill.

what about Greg "THE HAMMER" Williams

he has a contract with ESPN 103.3

Hey, if we remember the "little ticket" from day one, it wasnt too great either. I have a feeling theres going to be changes all around and it will take a book or 2 to adjust the line up, so dont freaking sweat it people.

As for Fisher, I last heard he was handling supermarket ribbon cuttings....

I am looking forward to the Fan. I believe if they can snag the Cowboys and Stars away from KDBN and WBAP, they will have run an end around on everyone.

Another bright side is that I still have friends who still have jobs after this format change

Thats a good thing, especially in this economy...

Wonder if contracts are coming up for any of the big Ticket personalities (who hate Cumulus)? Could that be a factor in the decision to flip Live to sports?

I think that the Rangers broadcasts moving from KRLD is more likely (CBS owns both) that the Stars moving to FM.

Maybe so. But with the NFL, NASCAR, possibly getting the Cowboys...what better way to become a powerhouse than snag the Dallas Stars as well, if possible?

The Fan will have to wait on the Stars....They have a deal with WBAP, and if I remember correctly they are in the 2nd or 3rd year of a 5 year contract. So you hockey fans will not hear FM hockey anytime soon. And who says that The Fan wants to have major play by play on the station. Now I can see The Rangers moving, but it just depends if The Rangers want to be on FM or not.

It'll be an interesting call when it comes to the cumulus nation, as it seems a few of the on-air personalities arent big fans of the station and their penny-pitching. We'll see come contract time for these folks.

Co-sign. They just found the cheapest chumps they could find. They obviously didnt look to hard.

The FAN basically cleared the bench at The Ticket. Kevin Scott, Pete, Ben & Skin. These are all guys that have been around there for a while but could see that no fulltime slot was opening in the Ticket lineup anytime soon. Who can blame them for jumping to a FT gig. My dealings with these guys have been pretty positive (not that the fulltime hosts were bad guys either.)

The people they have now in the FT positions I hope are good people.

The Jagger Show has a lot of great 4/20 friendly people

Ben and Skin are very friendly at live remotes.

I can't wait to meet the new midday show and maybe the new night time show will be just as friendly as The WAC.

Or is it that they are all guys who weren't good enough to crack the fulltime lineup?

And if they did clear the bench, aren't you basically saying that they're sending Brad Johnson and Miles Austins out to compete with Tony Romo and Tarrell Owen? Sure Johnson might win you a game, but a championship?
