The webcasters list is getting very large these days, So what im looking for is some CHRs that think outside the box, Active hits type stations that will break new yet unproven yet hits,, or tracks I should say cause if they arent on all the stations they arent really hits yet. Also stations that lean rock, but still play CHR and Rhythmic hits. Here are a few examples of stations like im looking for.

Power hits 97.5-Junction City KS For Active hits

Radio now 100.9-WNOU Indianapolis for Active hits

Z-Rock 107.5 Pikeville KY-for its mix of hard Rock and Pop Hits.

Channel X 94- Vernal Utah-- For its heavy modern rock lean, but throws in pop and Hip Hop and cause itself hitmusic...

Mix 97.7 Myrtle Beach SC...Active Hits Good personalitys,,, Very cutting edge on new music and youth friendly,, both heavy on Rhythmic, as well as Rock that other stations arent yet playing,, plus some songs that have yet to be released as singles.

LAs new 97.1 AMP-seems like its aiming in this direction as well.

So can you guys list any more unique, non cookie cutter, think outside the box type stations... Rock Friendly, or Dance friendly,,,, or unique songs other stations dont play,, or have yet to play... Also,,, Super Cool Imaging is a plus, but most CHRs dont use the BAD ASS male voices except Mitch Craig,, and only a few have the female Sung Jingles....SO Sad that Brain James is gone now...R.I.P buddy.... So anyway, give me some other stations to check out,,,, I prefer ones owned by smaller Companys, and not Cumulous or Clear Channel,,, Although I do love alot of the CC stations, Ive already listened to them... I think Cumulous stations are too conservative, but if you know of any that arent, list them... You guys dont have to list the website or stream links, thats alot of work,,, just tell me the name of the station and city and Ill find it.... Thanks.....

94.5 WPST Trenton rock leaning CHR very little Hip Hop...terrible jocks but good imaging and music selection
Wired 96.5 Philly CHR that leans rythmic it has a different approach in imaging and music selection..different but not neccessarily good

Thanks,,, but im not a big fan of Wired after they fired one of their female jocks just because she was black, they wanna lean rhythmic, but not have an Urban Image.... Nothing Wrong with a Black, or Hispanic doing other formats, I know of Country,, CHR,,, Rock ETC stations that have Black Jocks,,, What wrong with that.. I also hate Urbans that refuse to hire White people.

WPST is...Was pretty good, but I havent heard it in years, last I heard they were going for a more Adult Top 40 direction... Ive found that I like K-92 in Roanoke VA, and 107.5 WZLK or KZL,,, My G/F in Va told me to listen to those stations online since they are her locals.. She can also get Kiss 95.1 from Charlotte, thats another good station, she can pick it up in the car despite being 177 miles away because she is 3000 feet above sea level.... She told me of a 105.1 that she can sometimes get,,, im guessing thats G-105.1 in Raleigh,, and yeah its a good station... So thats what she told me about.. K-92 has a HQ ACC stream and airs OHP on Saturdays and Dance music on Fridays...

Otherwose. my buddy at KKCK 99.7 told me about Z 102.9 Cedar Rapids, and Q-92 in Canton,,, both stations are very good... Ive had alot of PMs of suggested stations but your the first to respond on the board.. I guess many on the board work in radio, and dont want to promote other stations.. lol

Also,,, Nothink overly special about it,, but B-93.7 in Greenville SC is good,, they play all the hits and have cool Jingles and a Killer signal.

The Nova stations in Australia are pretty much exactly what I was looking for.. I wish they would come to the USA and buy a network over here... Ya see,,, Alot of these stations are playing songs from MGMT,, so why wont the U.S play them... The Nova stations,, some of them play a bit of Dance,, which in this amount could work on U.S CHRs... It looks like Virgin Radio in Toronto is a straight ahead CHR now, I wish some of the underperforming Movin stations would flip to the Virgin format.. Some of the Nova stations are dance friendly, and some are rock leaning, so they dont run the whole network as one station, which is what I thought they were doing before.

Also,,, that I-91 in Tacoma looks Awesome,, its too bad they dont webcast... Im lucky enough to be within Range of Radio Now 100.9 as well as Hot 96 in Evansville,,, Im about 120 miles from Evansville, but they are a flame thrower with 100kw and im up pretty high... Ive even managed to pull in Electric 96.9 from Paducah, and 101.5 CIL FM from Carbondale ILL,, but it takes a little more than dead band conditions to pull this in.

Im surprised no one mentioned it, bit similar to CKOI 96.9 is the Energie Network in Canada,,, very rock friendly,, and plays Hit Music in English and French both.... I like Energie 104.1 in Ottawa the best because they have a nice ACC stream.

The Energie stations in Canada all pretty much run the same playlist, and the ones found in Quebec's bigger cities usually have an AAC stream on their website.

One station I forgot to mention is B-92 Charleston. Had a chance to listen to them quite a bit this weekend when I was down in Charleston ans Savannah. Too bad B-92's ratings are low :( 95 SX aint too bad either though it's musically more conservative.

My favorite track off the MGMT CD is "Electric Feel", which is the danciest alternative hit in recent memory.  Their sound can only exist in this era of music since they're a smooth blend of the last four decades (60s hippie, 70s dance, 80s feel, 90s synths, 00s a bit of everything).  They'll always be bigger overseas than in the US because they have different tastes.  The Nova stations' imaging are often funny.

Electric Feel and Kids are both good songs from MGMT.... They are kinda Gothic,, like an electronic version of Marylin Manson, so I cant see why more Modern Rockers arent playing them, and then they could break onto CHR..... And they have Dancier versions that could be played at Dance stations.... I think C-89.5 in Seattle, and Indie 101.5 in Denver are the only stations in the U.S that have played MGMT..... Maybe some School stations, but non of the CC Cumulous, CBS ETC....

I would like to see more Male targetted, or Unisex targeted CHR stations,,, there are too many Play it safe stations here, especially the Cumulous ones... Dont get me wrong on the CC stations,,, FLZ, Z-100, and KIIS are all very succesful stations, but they could be a bit more daring,,, not just by playing more Dance, or Rock music, but just maybe experiment with Album cuts from the Top most popular Artist... B-96 in Chicago will often play Album tracks of popular artistsblowing up, and B-96 Chicago has caused some labels to switch from releasing one single into another...

I have heard MGMT played on Milwaukee's Alternative station 102.1 FM

I prefer MGMTs Kids to Electric feel,,, its more dancy and more Dance-CHR friendly, but although I dont really se much dance appeal to Electric Feel, I think the more Daring Modern Rock stations should play it,,, Kids could be a CHR and a Dance hit with a slightly Dancier remix,,,,, but other countys dance stations, Which are often their default CHRs will play the original versions of POP Songs.... Why not here...
