Looks like it's official....

Greggo, like everyone else, deserves a chance at redemption. He seems to be willing to clean up his act and fly right. For that, Im wishing him good luck and godspeed in his efforts.

Well, Slam, he's had 2 chances now - that's more than most ever get. If he can leave the damn Hydrocodone alone he'll do well. I wish him the very best success at ESPN. The Ticket is cool, but if you really want sports news and info, ESPN is where it's at.

When I refer to change, im referring to making a clean break from the place that caused his problems to being with (The Ticket). Im of the belief that the building on turtle creek was built on an old indian burial ground ;)

And The Bone is on the 13th floor which explains there dismalness? lol

I used to see Greggo in the hall. One would never know by looking at him that he was messed up.

But there are a few others in the market that are in his shoes and whom haven't been caught...yet.

He kept it together well for a time when it came to his chemical dependency. Eventhough im no longer in the business, I can tell ya that ive seen quite a few folks in this market have some pretty deep addictions,be it drugs, booze, even sexual. Most, if not all, comes from the fame aspect, which opens up alot more doors that normally wouldnt be there and brings in questionable parties. You can also add the fact most of these on-air folks have a narcisstic complex that makes them believe they're indestructable and above everyone else. Thats what has been a driving factor in some recent Dallas radio events (Russ Martins Arrest, Greggos Addiction Issues, ect..)

I agree 100% Slam. I still do a lot of production work with various affiliates on TV shows, reality, etc. I well know what people will do because they rest their hopes in you/me to fulfill their dream(s). What do you do now if you don't mind me asking?

I went into the IT business, work for a company here in Dallas

Cool. I'm still messing with this entertainment bisiness. Sometimes it's great and at others, I just want to strangle a few folks! lol

Back to the topic at hand. :-\

I listened to The Ticket for a lot of years, and have dealt with my own issues relating to alcohol.
Hopefully Greggo has beaten his demons for real, and has recovered enough to handle the gig.
We'll be listening. Some to cheer him on and others waiting for the first sign of weakness. ;D
Best of luck.

Stinky

I'll tune in at first just for the trainwreck factor. I want full disclosure the very first show. I want contrition, humility, and a bunch of damn good stories. That being said, he is really in a no win time slot. I would imagine that 7-10pm is pretty much a wasteland for listeners with so many other options. He should catch some button pushers after the Hardline signs off at 7 though.

Hope he can pull a SRV (18 years ago yesterday) and get his life back together bigger and better.
