Today is the day. Has anyone heard if he even had court today?

It was mentioned in an earlier post that it has been removed from the docket at Tarrant county. Either the charges were dismissed or moved to another venue because of the lack of an untainted jury.

I suspect it's the latter.

geez you guys will fight about anything. who really cares about any of this?

If you don't like the topic, then don't read the thread.

really? i didnt say anything was wrong with the original topic. i was referring to all the ppl who are getting all hot and bothered about who should care about russ's dad’s death and if he cares that his dad died and blah blah blah. all im saying is what does it really matter?

July is vacation time so you can likely count on one of the principals being out of town and it will get continued into November at least, then there are the holidays......a good strategy would be to continue the trial till it either gets dropped or Russ's contract runs out. That way CBS has no way to get off the cash hook on a morals clause if (and it is a big if) they can even get a conviction.

Channel 8 reported on the delay and said something to the effect of "Russ and his fiancee are wanting to get this behind them do they can wed."

So he paid her off by promising to marry her?

Look up "Borderline Personality Disorder" and you will see Mandy aka Amy's picture.

I'm sure the Chris Brown-Rihanna blowout didn't make Tim Powers or Russ too happy. A high profile beat down brings plenty of attention to the issue. So I'm sure they didn't want to go to trial with that on everyones mind.

He's got more problems ahead if the trial goes badly, so I'm sure they'll do all they can to minimize the damage.

And I'm convinced that giant rock she has on her finger helped convince Mandy to STFU. She really shouldn't flash that bribe around like she does. ::)

He's been "promising" to marry her for 2 years. It ain't gonna happen. The only reason he's pissed the trial was delayed is cause that means he has to hang on to her longer. He needs her to not testify against him. After this is over, he'll kick her to the curb.

I wasn't so sure he did it..until he took her back. As vindictive as Russ has proven he can be, if he was really innocent, he would never have taken someone back who made up such a lie about him and caused so many problems for him.

She's a fool for going back to Russ, end of story. She needs to run as far away from Russ as she can, restraining order and all. Sadly though, she's following the pattern of someone who has been abused.

According to All Access, Russ Martin's new trial date is set for July 27th.

Those of you that care, all of you can get together with sack lunches and make a day of it.
I'm sure there's a park near the courthouse, and you can all have a picnic after the trial is set back again.

Have a happy RMS day! :-X

Old news. They'll just reschedule it again, and again, and again. Wash, rinse, repeat as needed.

It has been reported, by Richie Whitt, that Mandy aka Amy was arrested for a FTA warrant due to missing a previous court date. Russ will walk away a free man. As many people have said, no victim=no crime.

How funny / ironic that the sleuths here at radio-info.com who have been so on top of the Russ Martin drama to the point of reporting on addresses and real estate deals with writhing hands have been leaving out key points about their favorite "he deserves what he gets" radio persona.....

LOL

http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/sportatorium/2009/03/breaking_news_russ_martins_fia.php
(i don't blame you guys, if the info didn't jive with my personal axe to grind, I too would have left this out)

Mandy was allegedly assaulted by Russ last July. Since then, she has reconciled with Martin and, for what it's worth, has filed a complaint of inappropriate and illegal actions taken by the Southlake Police Department that, according to Angelino, is under "internal investigation."

could be BS could not be.... just funny that for a group that seemingly celebrated the end of the show and station and celebrated the posting of totally non-relevant information about the person under the guise "hey he is a public personality so he deserves it" would leave out certain parts of the story.

Makes you wonder about all the "insiders" and people that know from a "good source".... but yea no whatever.... back to the pitchforks!!!

This doesn't change anything. It's merely Russ trying to exploit something quite minor. Hey folks, not every legal issue runs its course without some slip up here or there. Even on the rare chance he does walk, no one's going to hire him to be on the radio in this market. It's not the kind of situation that is easy to overlook or forget.
