Listening to the online stream of Mojo 94.9 this afternoon. I just heard the afternoon DJ Luna say its been fun working with the traffic lady Angie Eyerick (SP?) over the past several years. Is that a Hint that today is the last day of Mojo as we know it before its format tweek and move to 100.3 to become the Urban AC Compliment of WIZF like the WDHT/WROU Dayton, WHHH/WTLC Indianapolis COmbos. What will be on 94.9 tomorrow if not Star moving from 96.5. will we see a stunt

Thank you. We've had a great seven and a half year run and it was all the Mojo listeners that made every day at the radio station so much fun. We hope you enjoyed what you heard as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.
We appreciate you letting us into your homes, your cars, your workplaces and any where you may have had your Mojo workin'.
As you probably have heard, Mojo 94-9 is moving to 100.3FM as of Thursday, September 21st. We wish all the best to the new owners of the Mojo name. So until then, enjoy the last couple days of Cincinnati's Jammin' Oldies.
All of us who have worked on the air at Mojo 94-9 will never forget the experience.

Top 10 station + Good billing + great sound - Lets kill it = Don't get it.
I listend to Mojo streaming on the net, gotta say it sounds good. Jocks sound alive and actually sound like they are talking to you (NO LINER CARDS). The whole staff talks and works like a team. After seven years at the top!!! I wish all the folks good luck and great success. HINT: Stations in the area might want to want to study this IE: Pick up the music and the jocks, screw the intellectual property, they can keep it
You can have the name for 5 Million Dollars. A article in a major radio publication just surfaced that a FCC report and study on local radio was trashed and that a senator has demanded a investigation, the FCC commissioner claimed he never saw it. The reason he never saw it is because if it would only prove that pubic is tired of hearing syndicated, boring radio!!!
Even if you didn't like the format, MOJO was a good example of how to do radio right!!!

Mojo certainly was unique and it was probably that uniqueness that kept it around for so long. The people who follow Mojo over to 100.3 tomorrow will more than likely be very disappointed if they don't like R&B.

MoJo shows that when done right jammin oldies is a winning format. Great demos, and a great compliment to almost any cluster. Since radio one has decided to trash a radio station that made more money than their entire Cincinnati cluster will ever dream of making, I will advise everyone I know not to invest one cent in this foolish agenda over common sense company.
So sad that one of the best radio stations in this country will be gone. The stupidity of RO is amazing. Yes, an UAC is needed in this market, but it will never ever make half of what MoJo made, does RO sound like a company that you want to invest in?

Mojo was an awesome station. I have listened to is since I moved back to Cincy in 2001. Before that 94.9 was a Jazz station that love also and they took that away...
Mojo's DJ's were very enjoyable to listen to and the music was outstanding... Always fresh...

Probably close...especially if it is CC flipping an AC to ROL...the result will still be the same. They have a better chance of putting a dent in Warm's revenue stream and thus improving their own in the Rhythmic Oldies format. The result of R1 competing in only a slightly overlapping format would not hurt a station's chances of succeeding in the ROL format. R1 has shown in several cases that they can not maintain the level of previous billing when tweaking their format...look at KKBT...classic example. Besides, I tend to think that they will be hurting the revenue stream of their Cincy sister Urban...we'll have to see.brian_stevens said:

MOJO was a great station and maybe the last one either live or VTed locally 24/7. However, much of their success had to do with being the defacto Urban A/C, and a 'true" Urban A/C as a competitor may not have left them with enough white females to keep up with their billing and flanking for Warm 98. Cumulus obviously didn't have the stomach for a fight with the Urban behemoth, so the easy answer for everyone was for Radio One to make an offer for the intellectual property which gave them a little bit of a head start, and for Cumulus to take the money and run.
