Looks like WOGL-FM 98.1 is playing Christmas music

And that & $5 will get them a peppermint mocha at Starbucks.

Will that be with or without the weekend speciality shows - Bob Pantano Dance Party, Elvis & Friends, Street Corner Sunday?

Well just like last time B101 will win, and win big, but for personal interests i'm glad, as I prefer 98's Christmas format over B's. I think I prefer everyone over B. Much rather hear Dean Martin singing walking In a winter wonderland over Jessica Simpson, or Mandy Moore. Really prefer hearing John Lennon sing Happy Xmas (War Is Over), then Celine Dion. ogl's Christmas format reminds me of Sunny's.

Just saw a Facebook group post promoting the upcoming edition of "Elvis & Friends" - this Sunday - so I doubt these shows will be pre-empted.

Maybe this is a precursor of things to come. Maybe 98.1 will become KYW-FM and 106.9 will become the new home of WOGL.

Or maybe it's exactly what it is--holiday music for six weeks, then back to normal.

I seem to recall the last time they did this..the dance party on Sat nite was not pre-empted. Or the Sunday shows.

Why OGL will not win. Either you're all in or not. Weekends is when much of the Christmas listening occurs.

I doubt B will drop Christmas at 8pm Saturday for their 80sm programming.

Either do it right or don't do it at all.

WOGL isn't going to win or lose based on keeping a couple of speciality shows in place.

Keeping the specialty shows won't hurt at all. In fact, it will help since people like me who hate hearing so much holiday music so soon, will keep tuning in Saturday night and Sunday.

Buckley has flipped WDRC-FM in Hartford to all Christmas too. Some of the music is much different than what is being played on CBS's Lite 100.5, which has been the traditional all Christmas station in Hartford for the past few years. On The Big D 102.9 DRC-FM All Christmas means No Tom Kent. No All Request Saturday Night with Rockin' Ron Sedaille, and I will assume no more Charlie Tuna The 70s tonight.

I had on WOGL Christmas Music since the day they started playing it on my car Radio. But last Night when they Started the dance party I changed my Station to B101 and I am sure i'm not the only one and I am now going to keep B101 on my radio so YES they will have to be in 24/7 including Weekends or they will NOT win they lost me..

EXACTLY. It's called programming 101......

They're not going to abandon the deal with the club to do the dance party...that's business 101. And those 7 hours aren't going to be the make-or-break element.

They could have the dance party at the club Just not air it on the Radio They can cut in every 10-15 minutes with updates with whats going on at the club just not Air the music at the club on the Radio

Break in with updates? We're not talking the live remote at the Chick-Fil-A grand opening.

The value of that event is in the broadcast. They're not casting aside decades for six weeks. The remaining 90% of the schedule will suffice, just as it did a few years ago.
