It's interesting to me that WROW went local in the afternoons yet is failing miserably--1.7, a far cry from that 3.3 last spring. Though I'm a major supporter of stations being local, I suppose the local host needs to be decent and draw in numbers.

However, I'm quite pleased with the success of the new WGDJ with the 2.2. I hope they build on it, and compete with WGY. I believe they have an advantage over WGY for being live and local in both AM and PM drivetimes.

Mike & The Mad Dog always lost to WTMM when ESPN was on the 1300 signal. Obviously, Vandenburgh was the key to WROW's ratings success and his new station just creamed ROW in its first book.

Would love to see Mike & the Mad Dog back, tough to get 660am out of NYC.............Paul really did a number to Scott in his first full book. Congrats Paul!

In my humble opinion, the real deficiency in Capital District talkradio is the fact that there are only three right-wing stations. I mean, couldn't we at least have four?
