Loop Loud hd 2 CHANNEL

Emmis launched loop loud today (active rock/hardrock) and Q101 2 young alternative channel . Does anybody here have hd radio yet.

I agree with Jeremy. The HD Radios out now are expensive and horrible. Also, the range of the HD 2 stations isn't nearly as good as the main channel, so if you are in an outlying area, forget it. And remember, when your HD2 reception isn't perfect the signal doesn't just get "hissy" like the main channel, it disappears; dropouts can last several seconds. My recommendation is to make SURE that you can return your new radio if you are not happy with it.

i have had a HD radio for a few months now... i have the Boston one.... it is really nice. something happend to it and it would "freeze" up and wouldnt work and i emailed and called Boston, and they were friendly and nice and tried to help me. but nothing helped so i sent it out to them and i just got it back yesterday... it has a warrenty with it so if you buy the Boston Hd radio dont worry if something goes wrong.... it is also nice to hear the old WJMK agian with out having to be at my computer.. and the other HD stations are awsome... only once in a while it will stop just for a few sec. but comes back on i might do that 2 or 3 times in a hour... (at least for me) i have "rabbit ear" antenna and i can get good reception... and i couldnt belive the AM HD its shocking.... a total difference.... i was listening to the Cubs game on 720 and its clear... just my expeirence with the HD radio...

The HD2 signal has no "analog fallback" so when the IBOC transport stream cannot be decoded, the audio goes silent, just like a Sirius/XM receiver. This is where the perception originates that HD2 streams are somehow "weaker" than HD1.I love some of the "restocking fees" various vendors have now... Not just a flat charge, but as high as 15% or 20%. I totally agree to make sure you can return it and pay minimal fees (and shipping of course) for returning a non-defective unit.

It's happened to me two or three times as well. If it happens again, try unplugging the adapter from the HD Radio unit itself and plugging it in again after a minute or so. It worked for me.
