Lopez Tonight

Lopez is well known as being racists against white people. When his show was canceled, his first comment was that tv just got more white. To be fair his show was canceled to make room for that caveman show. That had to hurt.

If you seen any of his HBO / stand up acts half his jokes are about white people. The other half are about Latinos. I guarantee when Lopez tonight gets canceled, he will probably make some white people type complaint on why it was canceled so early.

Oh you can bet he will blame the 'white guys in the suits' for his talk show's cancellation.

As for his sitcom on ABC, his tirade against the network was about his co-workers losing their jobs, which I have to admire him for thinking about other people than himself.

Lopez had a tough life growing up and it appears he does hold a grudge (Example: Eric Estrada refusing to shake his hand when Lopez was a teenager).

I would love to know what kind of ratings "Lopez Tonight" is pulling down, and how long it will be before TNT pulls the plug; if they do.

If Lopez Tonight gets canceled on TBS there is nobody to blame but George Lopez himself.

Again sorry to offend his fans and viewers, but the truth is mediocre is mediocre.
And no amount of blaming "whitey" is going to make up for the fact that Lopez's talk show would never make it on one of the big three networks, let alone a cable channel best known for airing the same movies and Law and Order reruns on a regular basis.

The irony in all of this is that Lopez's wife is white...go figure.

It will probably end like Stephanie Miller's attempt at a late night talk show.
The last episode was just shameful. They had apparently told her that day it
would be her last show. She gave short-shrift to her guest, Fyvush Finkel, and
spent the time whining and bitterly lashing out at her bosses.

Technically, the "last episode" of her late-night show was hosted by Danny Bonaduce. He was brought in to host the final three weeks or so of the thirteen-week run.

Didn't see that. I think our local affiliate replaced it with reruns of Star Trek TNG.

She's hispanic. If I am not mistaken, Cuban.

I've read somewhere that she was white...I do stand corrected.

What difference does it make if Lopez's wife is white, black or hispanic? We're talking about the show here.

I still maintain that his sitcom was more entertaining than his current talk show. And it's my firm belief that Lopez Tonight won't last past the spring of 2010; at least at the rate the show is going.

Did it ever occur to any of you that she could be Hispanic AND white?

A solid percentage of those we refer to as Hispanics (or Latinos) are of the Caucasian race. That's why those EEO statements you fill our for employment and other things say "non-Hispanic white"....because lots of "Hispanics" are white too. For example, Buenos Aires was the "whitest" large city I've ever visited. And there are a pretty good sized group of "whites" among the higher economic classes in every Latin American country. This is one of the dangers of lumping Latinos into one [artificial] racial/cultural group.

Besides, it doesn't really make any difference. Lopez' schitck is what it is and most of his audience neither knows, nor cares, what color his wife is.

it appears that Geroge Lopez has managed to create an environment where whenever people talk about him, the subject of race dominates. That cannot be good for any entertainer, or their career.

I don't know about that. It's done wonders for the careers of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton!! ::)
