Lots of digital channels have gone down tonight

Strong winds, and KPNX channel 12, KPAZ channel 21 and K38IZ channel 38 went down. KPNX is back on now; the others are still off.

FWIW, the analogs are down also.

Add 61 to your list. Right in the middle of my taping TAAHM! %&^*(*%^&!!!!!!!!!

Worst winds we've ever had down here on the flatlands. I imagine up on top of South Mountain you can't stand up straight.

Must have been short-term. They're back already. I think I was missing 8 at one time also.

Also add KNXV 15 to your list they were out at 7:30. Just so you know KPNX 12.2 is now a AccuWeather affiliate.

Yet they still use the 12News Weather Plus+ branding as well.

Perhaps that explains why, for the past 4-5 days, 12.2 had been running
the same short loop of "raw" map data, or at times what seemed like the
weather-guesser setting up map segments for the next 'cast. They must
have been prepping for the switchover and elected to fill thusly, rather
than go dark.

Taking the subject on a slight detour...

Through my DTV converter, I have not had any audio
from 33.1/33.2 for several days now. Video is fine.

Anyone else in the same situation? Both come in OK
(assuming fiber-optic feeds) on Cox analog channels
19 and 54.

Also, how have the Tucson DTVs been holding up for
those that have been able to lock them in--whether
you have a real HDTV or "fake" HD (converter)?

KGUN-DT 9 has been solid, KTTU-DT 18 usually there,
however KVOA-DT 4 has been pretty much missing
for a few weeks, until the past day or so when they've
been back sporadically.

KMSB-DT 11 went away about the same time 4 did and
has yet to come back.

I never have been able to get KOLD-DT 13 (eons ago
ID audio: "KOLD television 13, first in Tucson").

Both have good audio and video through my DTV converter (as of 1635 Sat.)

Which was know as KOPO when it signed on eons ago. ;)

I'm OTA only, with digital receivers, and I've had no problems with 33.1/33.2 whatsoever.

The only station I get reliably is KTTU 18.1. Sometimes I get KVOA 4.1 and sometimes KUAT 6.1. Very seldom do I pick up KGUN 9.1, and I never get KMSB 11.1 or KOLD 13.1, although analog 13 has shown up on my channel list occasionally. I don't get KUVE 46.1 at all, although that's because they're only running at 15 kW. Once they move to RF ch. 46, they'll be at 70.3 kW and they have an application to maximize at 172 kW, which should definitely put a signal into the Phx SE Valley. Their signal was my most reliable analog Tucson station.

I find that I receive Tucson stations better in the mornings than in the evenings; I don't know why.

I had thought that AccuWeather's services were market-exclusive. KNXV is still using the information and template from AccuWeather for their GoAZ.TV channel.

I was hoping that one of the stations that have all-weather subchannels (5 or 12) would turn them into an entertainment subchannel, but I guess that's not going to happen soon (besides, I would rather much have the movies of the .2 Network - if they ever sign on - than THIS TV).

Computers have that ugly blue screen.
I have Dish Net and they show an ugly yellow screen.

Your post explains why I couldn't get KPNX HD for a few minutes that day.
But I could get their analog.
Analog very ugly on an HD set.

At the same time, I tuned KWGN (I subscribe) in Denver and they were intermittently good and yellow screen.
How can wind affect HD signal strength and analog signal strength?

Have you tried re-scanning? Many converters will "find" a brand-new subchannel when it shows up in the PSIP, but they may not recognize a change of an audio or video PID on an existing program stream. So, if they made some minor updates, your TV or box might not realize it.

10-4. I did a re-scan and 33.1/33.2 are there with audio. I also gained
the 44s, but lost the 51s! KPPX-DT had been mostly "no signal" in recent
weeks anyway, unless I played around with the antenna.
