Crazy day for DX Sunday (28th), here in Hudson Valley New York. E-skip in almost all day on lower TV channels, with FM DX possible at various times. Stations tended to fade out fast, so it was tough getting ID’s. This was complicated by significant enhancement of interfering signals from Philadelphia and other parts of Eastern Pennsylvania. Best FM was between about 10:45am and 12:45pm.Six new ones on FM:10:53am WBLX-92.9 Mobile, AL w/ full ID following an Alabama political spot. 1147mi.11:27am WGCM-102.3 Gulfport, MS w/ spot for Lookout 49 Night Club and mentions of Gulfport. 1161mi.12:09pm KPEL-105.1 Abbeville, LA w/ interview with Lafayette area judge. 1300mi.4:50pm WARO-94.5 Naples, FL spot for “WINK-TV” (ch 11) w/many mentions of SW Florida. 1155mi.5:02pm - WXCV-95.3 Homosassa Springs, FL, playing Prince’s “Raspberry Beret” and then clear mention of call letters. 1020mi.6:00pm - WJUF-90.1 Inverness, FL “Nature Coast 90” ID followed by “Thistle and Shamrock” program. 1019mi.Several unID stations w/Gospel noted Sunday morning, including 102.5 in well with “Gospel Tracks” with Walt Baby Love, could be previously logged KTCX- TX. I missed ID. I had Spanish on 92.5 many times throughout the day’ probably WYUU-Safety Harbor (Tampa) FL. Previously logged w/ country. Life-FM-89.1 (WSMR) Joy-FM-88.1 (WJIS) were likewise in a lot Sunday. KRDJ-93.7 “Red” LA noted at 12:33pm, logged in 2004 as KOOJ “Real Rock 93.7”. ON TV: New loggings from WWL-4 LA at 10:30am, and WKRG-5 AL really good at 11am. Also at 10:28am I had simultaneous ID’s from regulars WEDU-3 (foreground) and KATC-3 (background).
