Yes, I know that it's easier to get AM stations over a distance of several hundred miles at night than it is to get FM, but... I'd like to hear about the "unusual" cases...
for example...
in San Diego, CA, I have heard (at night):
830 WCCO (normally dominated by KPLS)
870 WWL (normally dominated by KRLA)
780 WBBM (normally dominated by KFMB (i'm close to their TX) and KKOH)
720 WGN (KDWN was off the air)
in Redlands (2 hours north of San Diego) I heard 1040 WHO (which in San Diego has KURS on the co-channel.)
In the daytime, I have heard:
810 KGO, 680 KNBR, 1530 KFBK, 1580 KMIK (normally dominated by KBLA), and the LAX Airport TIS on 530.
Last night, I had my Select-A-Tenna's null pointed toward KCBS, and was trying to identify a station on 740. It was in english as far as I could tell, but I couldn't get an ID. Any ideas, anyone?
Also on graveyards I've heard 1240 Radio Disney from Albuquerque (local 1240 was on, but no audio - carrier only), 1400 (if I remember correctly) nostalgia from Tuscon, 1450 from Porterville.
What are your AM DX reports that are not your normal DX?
