Fresno / Central Valley Lotus Acquires KOKO-FM From TEG Broadcasting In Exchange For KGST

Lotus will acquire 94.3 KOKO-FM Kernan CA from TEG Broadcasting in exchange for 1600 KGST Fresno. TEG, led by Tarnvir Singh Bisla and Sukhdev Dhillon, had purchased KOKO-FM from the estate of Art Laboe’s Big Broadcasting last year for $330,000. Dhillon was also a partner in the “Radio Punjab” network that has been leasing KGST from Lotus since 2022. Dhillon and Mohan Cheema had agreed to purchase KGST and 1490 KWAC Bakersfield in 2022 for $850,000, but were unable to close on the acquisition.

KFWB from LA Relay?
I am told that they are separately done locally in each market, due to different commercial loads and features.

Anyone have a website yet for the new KOKO La Ranchera? (Unlike KZLA's proposed booster, with KOKO I did notice a spur sometimes being generated on 94.3 coming from somewhere east of Visalia. Perhaps a cable headend or translator having issues... it comes and goes but is pretty strong.)

Showing as denied. There is no FCC letter of explanation showing yet. There was also a filing to sell KGST-FM as part of the KOKO-FM sale. It was granted on 1/29/2025 but not yet consummated. There was no filing to extend the sale filed by the 90 day window.

Perhaps there will be a "boomerang sale" announcement from one of the media brokers over this property. KOKO puts in a good signal into Fresno but also used a booster to increase the coverage in the northeast sector of their footprint.

I think the Lotus and TEG deal fell through with the FCC.

You're half right.

The FCC did approve the sale, back on January 29 of last year.

But the consummation apparently didn't happen; the two parties filed for an extension for same on April 23, but that was denied and (appropriately) those documents are no longer on file at the FCC.

KGST 1600 has been off the air for how long now, a year?
