Lou Dobbs Dead at 78

TV news anchor, who became a conservative talk show host, Lou Dobbs has died at age 78

He was one of the first anchors at CNN.

Dobbs began working for CNN at its inception in 1980, hosting "Moneyline," which was later renamed "Lou Dobbs Tonight." From 2011, he hosted the program on Fox Business Network until it's cancellation in 2021.

Dobbs and Myron Kandel were the most recognizable business reporters on CNN in its early days and they were good at their job. Shame Lou drifted into the political opinion business.

Very true-- when he was on Moneyline (the half-hour version) on CNN, that was his best work, because you knew what you were getting. When it became the Moneyline NewsHour, and then later Lou Dobbs Tonight (on CNN and FOX "Business"), then I think that's when the politics started.
