Lou Teicher of Ferrante and Teicher Has Died

Lou Teicher has died in North Carolina at the age of 83.

He was half of the piano duo of Ferrante and Teicher, whose records were a staple of Beautiful Music and MOR radio stations during the 60s and 70s.

And they were widely played on Top 40 stations in the 60's too, with their multi-million selling hits “The Theme
from The Apartment,” “Exodus,” “Tonight” and “Midnight Cowboy.”

Rest in peace, Lou.

They both retired in 1989, but returned to the studio for their own record label Avant Garde in the 1990s to produce a new CD.

Ferrante is the older of the two, born in 1921.

Here's a cool YouTube link of them performing the Exodus Theme. It also features some nice, recent viewer comments about them.
