Clear Channel, where failure is always rewarded.

Guess being Marc Chase's butt boy has it's benefits. The fact that either of them are still with the company is amazing.

Rumors of a format flip...not unusual. Whoopi? Another CC latino format?

I hope this means more currents and live local midday and afternoon talent.

I don't think Paul Ciliano and B98.5 are going to be breaking out the champaigne just yet. I think a real AC war is coming on, thanks to B98.5's sister the River.

If Lite will add local talent and play a few past-year currents an hour, they will have B98.5 and their company mandated 300-song policy by their you-know-what.

Local talent, a few past-year currents an hour, a consistent six share...Oh you mean sort of like the situation they had with Peach before Marc Chase destroyed the place? No that makes too much sense and John Hogan would have to admit to a mistake.

if the jox are topical and relevant AND if the music is right, it doesn't matter of the talent is mic'd in atlanta or seattle

EXACTLY! The "Local" angle is VERY overated. If it's entertaining, people will listen.

the only people who whine & cry **LIVE & LOCAL** are insecure djs

One more thing. The people on here that continually bash CC for "destroying" Peach don't remember, that in it's last year to 18 months, WPCH was on LIFE SUPPORT.

Louis did a great job with the radio station and should be proud of what he accomplished.

The last year to 18 months that would be about exactly the time Marc Chase was in charge of Peach. Then he changed it to Lite as if the name instead of his own utter incompetence, (see 96 Rock, MIX, MAX, COOL, REAL RADIO) was to blame. Then Jethro brought in his buddy Louie to finish the job he started. CC did indeed destroy Peach, you look at their pre-Chase ratings and telll me I'm wrong.

As usual, your facts are way off here on Lite. Although the station certainly didn't "kill" since becoming Lite, they consistantly beat B98 12+ and were neck and neck 25-54 for most of the post-Peach years. Lite was in the top 3 in Atlanta as recently as January '06. Before The River signed on Lite was beating B98 handily and I imagine if it's still around in 5 months it will be doing the same again.

Louis, Lite's a great sounding station and I'm not just saying that because I want to work with you someday! Good luck in Florida.

Rumors are swirling about a format flip, and Whoopi would be a definite option. CC blew up their Philly AC just a couple of months ago, so I owuldn't be surprised.

So what??? B98.5 has been sucking wind for the last several years too. I'll assure you Peach pre-2001, before Marc Chase took over, never had ratings anywhere near as low as the sub three share in adults that Lite currently holds.

If you want to absolve Louis from responsbility fine. It probably wasn't his fault anyway.

B98 has consistently been top 5 - top 7 in their target. A lot of stations would love to "suck wind" like that.
