Louis Gossett Jr. - Actor

I recently watched what I thought was an excellent performance by him. He played Cool Papa Bell, a former player in the Negro Leagues. The Perfect Game was the story of the 1957 Little League Team from Monterrey, Mexico, who went on to win the Little League World Series.

Roots and An Officer and a Gentleman made him a star. Also had roles in Iron Eagle, Enemy Mine, Toy Soldiers, and plenty of B-fare/TV movies too. Thanks for the memories, and may you rest in peace.

Sorry to hear it, but while he might have been the first black man to win an Oscar for best supporting actor, he was about 4 years old when Hattie McDaniel took her Oscar for best supporting actress in 1940.

Glad to see Brother Gossett, Jr. was a member of the Craft!!!!
