louisiana music festival on xm

from the wdsu tv 6 website:

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Two out-of-state companies have pledged to support Festival International in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Southern Comfort will pay $20,000 to sponsor the Fais Do Do stage. The company had contacted festival organizers in October when it was unclear whether New Orleans' Jazz Fest would be held as usual.

Festival International Executive Director Dana CaInedo said XM Radio isn't donating money, but will instead broadcast live from the Festival, promoting it to its global audience on 10 stations.

It also will broadcast from Jazz Fest, beaming the sounds of Louisiana music to an international audience.

Scott Weimer, Worldzone program director for Worldspace Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio, said his company got involved because they wanted to do something to help Louisiana
