So, in other words, something is "coming at them like a dark horse." Who knew that obnoxious song that they play every ten minutes would describe their fate?
I have to be honest, I've never been so thrilled to see something fail. I actually did give them a fair chance at first, because I'm a fan of what is at 102.3 and thought 100.5 would make a nice counterbalance once in a while, but there is something about how they've decided to handle that format that is just way too wrong. They're trying to run a Hot AC and CHR format all at once there. That isn't to say those are completely different formats, but there are subtle differences between how you run a station for those audiences. I listen to 102.3 and haven't listened to 99.7 in over a decade, and I would imagine that there are plenty of younger people who listen to 99.7 all the time but would never listen to 102.3. "My 100.5" has attempted to be both at the same time and it simply didn't work.
