Sports doesn't generally doesn't generate huge top-line ratings numbers. Still, it's interesting that the bottom three stations on the Spring list are all Sports stations.
Some obversations. I see QMF is doing better but still getting beat by SFR. DJX is killin radio now 98.9 i see. I see where 100.5 kiss fm doing better and beating the max. I am assuming that is because 100.5 has a better signal. It is time to blow up either 93.1 the beat or 105.1 and put a current rock station there. Louisville does not need 2 hip hop stations. Leave the hip hop to B 96.5

It takes a certain kind of listener to enjoy sports radio... I like watching sports on TV, but commentary, not so much. I just want to see the games, maybe read a little more about it afterwards on my own time, and let that be that. The whole idea of radio stations discussing and commenting (often repeating the same things over and over again), the constant need to find filler that has nothing to do with sports, and the phony bickering and such is just something that drives me insane.
It's even worse here in Louisville, where most of the sports people seem to care most about are the college basketball and football teams, meaning that half of the year the filler and banter needs filler on top of filler. Obviously it's a viable format, but for me personally, I'd almost rather listen to foreign language talk radio in a language that I don't even speak.
