Louisville Summer 2018 Nielsen Ratings

It was a surprise seeing WDJX at #1. I don't think they have ever been #1 since they started in August 1985. If I remember right they were #2 once back around 1989 but never #1.
I don't listen to WDJX anymore since I don't like today's CHR music but I loved them (and the music) in the 80's when Pete & Joe, Jill Lawrence, Chris Randolph. Mike Shannon, and Greg Scott aka Gary Clark were on there.

The radio industry must be in a state of denial. It's 2018. Are we still pretending it's even remotely accurate for people to try to recall what they listened to on the radio and when, and then write it down in a paper diary?

I know the broadcasters pay a lot of money for these ratings, but the methodology is the same as when "Leave It To Beaver" was on TV.

Agencies demand numbers, and the diary methodology is the only one that is economically feasible in the below-market-50 area.

It’s that or not get agency business at all

Congrats to all the hits aka DJX. Usually the number 1 for years had been wamz. Times are a changin. Havin a live and funny local morning show helps. I remember when i was a kid flippin the radio came about an hour of christmas music and then at 1 AM magic 100(99.7) rebranded to 99.7 djx. And the first song money for nothing dire straights. Looks like blowin up the max into jack fm was a good idea. I am surprised since people were so mad about the max goin away.

Here is there first day on the air.
