Love 105 - KXXR-HD2 Sound Quality vs. FM 105

Does anyone else find the KXXR 93.7-HD2 feed of Love105 to be tinny, thin, sibilant & poor-quality to listen to? It kind of "tired out" my ears and I happened to go by 105.7 FM (the strongest 105 signal here) and it sounded SO much better on the 105 FM than on the 93.7-HD2. Are they running in MP1 and severely bit-starving the HD2, as in HD1 being 64kbps (72kbps) and HD2 being 32kbps (24kbps)? I think rock music would need a higher bit rate than Soft AC, so maybe that is it?

I remember when 93.7-HD2 ran "the Machine" and it sounded MUCH better than this. Never really was able to get 105.3-HD1 back when that was on, 105.3 was always the mid-tier 105 here, with 105.1 being almost unreceivable, so minimal HD (or Stereo/RDS) Lock.

There was some more noise, but honestly, I'm willing to put up with that, just so I don't have to listen to that tinny garbage anymore. Does anyone else notice how terrible 93.7-HD2 sounds? What are they doing to make it sound so awful?

Yes. KXXR-HD2 sounds like garbage. To me it sounds like someone’s taking the headphone out of a cheap tuner without 75 microseconds deemphasis tuned to 105.7 and putting it in to the HD encoder at levels pushing past 0dB. (Clipping)
