"Love, American Style" - Where is it?

With all of the classic shows being dusted off and played again to old and new audiences, it occured to me today -- whatever happened to "Love, American Style"? I recall a couple of actors got their start there including Karen Valentine....

I have not seen Love American Style in over 10 years when Nick at Nite carried the show in a marathon when TV Land first debuted and they aired shows that were going to air on there. They aired the most accessible episode of the show and that is the pilot show for Happy Days.

I wish that Love American Style would come to DVD,but it may come in form of a best of set rather than season sets since the show was a hour in length originally on ABC,and in some episodes 30 minutes. Another factor is if it comes to DVD is whether or not they will include the 1st season theme which was sung by the Cowsills.

They reran it on WWME-CA Channel 23 in Chicago in the Summer of 2005. It doens't hold up at all well. I can see it running for a month or so. The issue is the stars wouldn't be recognizable to younger kids and the topics were really dated. How many times can you see, "Oh the kids can't live together, without benefit of clergy." And of course by the time the episode ends they are at the minister.

Or should a man sleep with his shirt off, can I love the roommate without hurting the girl I'm dating (Seinfeld did this and it was funny). Bra burning, equal rights, and campus radicalism? They don't date well. But it was OK.

Like "Laugh In," I can remember how much I loved that show as a kid. It is so unwatchable to me today as it's so dated. I could see running "Love American Style" though on a once a week basis or something like that

I wonder how WWME got access to the episodes that they showed in 2005? I looked on the Paramount Syndication website, and it had this to say about "Love American Style":

Number of episodes available: 224 Half Hour Versions 98 One Hour Versions

Number of seasons aired: 4

Years produced: 1969-1973

Network carried on: ABC

The information in this package is subject to change and was last updated 03/24/98.

Note: Love American Style has been transferred to tape but at this time no syndication inventory exists.

That last line doesn't really make it sound like this show is available in syndication at all.

But how reliable is the info on the website? Considering that it was last updated in March 1998, they might've since made the show available to TV Land and inquiring stations (such as WWME), yet fail to reflect that in the database.

Actually, Karen Valentine was a co-star on "Room 222" on ABC the same season "Love..." hit the air. She played a student teacher or a first year teacher that first season if memory serves me correctly.
