LOVE FM ADDS NEW MIXSHOW!!! SATURDAY NIGHTS

Very interesting indeed. I hope Love FM gives him creative freedom on his mixes as long as songs fit the format. I will definitely listen. Good luck to him. I have heard his Friday mixes a few times and they are unbelievable!

I am starting to like the station. It is like a crossmix of Movin' and Jammin Oldies but taking the best of the two formats. Movin Oldies I guess :)

Barry James (PD) is doing a good job tweaking the format....they are doing good with moving/jammin' oldies rotation...

I hope JM3 can be creative on the mixes.....he is unbelievble!!! the mixes on friday are great!!!

Here's hoping they'll start playing the long or extended versions of songs as well, and not just on Saturday nights. For example, the 11 minute verson of "Disco Inferno" and many of the Donna Summer songs. It was bad enough in the old days when I'd have to put the album on (instead of listening to the radio) to hear the full version of songs as they were intended. These days, if music oriented stations still won't give listeners what is equal to or greater than what they listen to on their stereo, Ipod, or whatever, then they give people more reasons to tune out rather than tune in.

Where's Steve dahl when we need him. I hope he is able to repeat the "explosion" sometime this summer.

Steve is has his hands full keeping his own show going.....besides he is talented enough to keep his listeners happy......

If he has to worry about a dance mix show that is on during the weekend when he is not on air, he has issues......

what kind of mixshow? like b96,kiss fm, 70's or 80's mix..what kind is it?

Gosh this is totally awesome.. do they have light rock dj's hosting the new mixshow too? I guess I missed it but I bet it sounds great! Does anyone have a tracklist?

Actually Mark Sullivan (formerly of B96) is the host....im sure you can ask email the station for the playlist or go to JM3's website......

I listened last night and will say that the music selection was GREAT! I heard some songs I haven't heard since I used to spin on Division Street.

I thought some of the transitions were just okay though.

I agree....you can tell he has good knowledge of club music-great balance of familiar & unfamilar....The blends was good- ...

I think the drops & IDs need to be tweaked (i.e. timing ). The drops with the jocks name should have ran at the top of the mix, not when he played a "filler" song...

It seemed the show got off schedule, at a few places....I figured a few jock pre fills (top of the hour) and back fills (before commercial break). Not only hyping the show, but the mixer would have been great.....

with the present format, it will be a hit by the summer.....

I don't know what amazes me more: There is an audience for the crap WLIV plays or that the people who listen are willing to admit that they listen.

hahaha, yeah, if they don't like the format, don't post in this thread!!!

Have to admit, while this IS out of the box, it will help postpone radio's demise. Stations needs to find ways to stand out. It isn't 1972 anymore, where you could just play the hits and put some nice-voiced dj's on. Good move for these guys to try some new ideas without alienating the core.

It also shows that the PD is from Chicago (and has to be a DJ)...They hit the mark when it comes to the kids who grew up in the late 70s to 80s....who are 40 plus now...

It also shows that the mixer is programming from club experience, not a billboard book. Billboard, while a nice guide, isnt gospel....While alot of dance classics in the 80s charted in the 40-60 range in billboards radio eyes, was huge club hits....If you club hopped in the 80s at venues like Faces Disco, La Margaritas, Coconuts, The Sheba Disco, AKAs, T.C. Mulligans, Heros/LaMirage, even the Nimbus in the burbs, you will love it..Its great show!

The perfect part is it isnt all House....It's Dance music (Freestyle, Disco, Italian Imports, House, & radio standards) which gives it broad appeal......It shows that Lee Michael's ground breaking concept was not lost when V103 took over....

Oh gosh, how could I have forgotten that only those who agree may contribute to a thread.

No.. you can contribute and disagree....it adds to the shelf life of the thread.....by all means, complain away......
