Love FM

Looks like they're going to get into the mixing game as well. A rather boring mix at 5 was tumbled into by the air personality who sounds very much out of his league and out of touch. Nothing personal here but he along with Love's entire presentation from on-air to imaging is just way off point. It's like FM 100 meets Jammin' Oldies. I wouldn't look for great things from this "mix" if they're thinking it's going to increase numbers, perhaps they'll pull in a sponsor for it and attach a little value to the time slot but I don't see it increasing their visibility unless they do it properly with a complete imaging, presentation overhaul. The clock's ticking and they either need to get serious about the format or watch it die by October. It would be a shame but they're lacking in very important departments. The reason the Beat was so successful was that it was pulling strong 18-34's too, Love FM is a poor attempt at The Beat but perhaps that's the way Bonne wants to play it. If so, it's a shame and a waste of time.

It's not as much of an attempt at WUBT as it is WWYW. It sounds a lot like WWYW did before they went oldies IMO. Basically Guy Zapoleon's "Rhythm & Gold" format.Rhythmic Oldies/Disco80s New Wave/Popsprinkle of the Soft AC Love used to play90s Dance/Pop/R&B

Uh, it's Jammin' Oldies. Every song in there was in the Beat's library. EVERY ONE and then there's the stiff in there that weren't.

It actually IS Guy Zapoleon's Rhythm and Gold format. He's consulting.
And I hate to mention who developed the format and brought it to Zapoleon, because the mention of that name will get the originator of this thread foaming at the mouth.
