Low Power Hartford Channel 14 1990's

does anyone remember the low power channel 14 that was on in the hartford area in the early-mid 90's, if so does anyone know anything about it? who was it owned by? what did they show? what affiliate? where the transmitter was?

Are you sure you're not referring to the old low-power station which used to be on channel 13?

Yeah. I only rememeber LPTV stations in Hartford on channels 6, 10, 11, and 13.

Channel 10 was WHTX-LP and at one time was affiliated with America One, Much Music, some now-defunct low budget shopping network. Today WHTX-LP has been re-allocated to Channel 43 in Springfield, MA and relays WUVN TV 18.

Channel 6 was WMLD-LP and simulcasted WHTX-LP. After WHTX-LP went dark, all of WHTX-LP's programming moved over to WMLD-LP. They kept the same website tv10hartford.com WMLD-LP is now WRNT-LP Channel 48 in Hartford.

Channel 11 was W11BJ and originally relayed WTIC-TV. Later W11BJ was leased to WRDM-LP. Today W11BJ has been re-allocated to Springfield, MA and is WFXQ-CA on Channel 28. It is owned by WWLP.

Channel 13 signed on in the late 80s as W13BF. It was owned by Luccio Ruzzier (current owner of WRYM AM 840 and former owner of 1550 AM) and ran programming from Telemundo and the RAI Italian Network. Calls changed to WRDM-LP in 1995. ZGS Broadcasting purchased the station. (I'm not sure what year). WRDM-LP moved to Channel 50 and increased their signal quite a bit during the summer of 2006. However lately they've been spending a lot of time only running color bars on it's OTA signal. WRDM-LP has been cable only. JTV (Jewlery Television) has been leasing overnights on WRDM-LP since being puchased by ZGS. (All ZGS stations lease the overnights to JTV).

Not all of them -- in Tampa Bay, the ZGS-owned Telemundo outlet, WRMD-LP ch.49, carries Telemundo 24/7.

Lucky them in Tampa Bay. In Hartford, Springfield, and Providence they didn't get to see the last Summer Olympics because the Telemundo Coverage was overnight, which is when JTV airs. I don't know if they got to see the Olympics on the other ZGS Telemundo stations that carry JTV.

Didn Channel 6 and Channel 10 only run a few watts??

Was it the Soldiers and Sailors Arch or the Capitol building?
