Lowell, MA Was In Total Radio Silence

Yikes, earlier today (Sunday, 10/30), all the radio stations licensed to Lowell, MA were in radio silence, with three of them airing unmodulated carrier. The unmods were WCAP-AM 980, WUML-FM 91.5, and the WLLH-AM 1400 Lowell stick, as well as the Lawrence stick. WCRB-FM 99.5 was completely off-the-air, so I was able to get a faint signal from NHPR's Jackson, NH outlet.

On Sunday Morning around 9 or 10, I scanned the dial. I wasn't suprised to find stations like WUML 91.5 off the air (my stereo symbol was still lighting up). However, I was suprised to find WCRB 99.5 with a dead carrier. Maybe it's a sign of the times. I checked on them again around noon to hear complete static. WFNQ 106.3 had dead air until at least noon, and WAAF 107.3 had dead air for a brief period in the morning while WKAF 97.7 was still airing the rock format.
