Lower frequency STL

We have a license for 170.150 Mhz as an old Aux freq/ Anyone used something this low for an STL. I know the Marti 20-C's will tune to that frequency. We're looking to shoot clear line of site (no obstacles) about 2.5 miles. I'd appreciate any thoughts you all might have

With clear line of sight as you claim,you have other possibilities licensed and unlicensed.ubiquiti radios in the 900 band (928) now they have licensed in the 3ghz,less crowded than the 2 or 5.A Barix on each end and you're good to go.Nanostation M5 and 3 ghz will scan the freqs and let you know what would work.Point is,you can find a workable solution...
 
2.5 miles and line of sight? I'd use one of the spread spectrum unlicensed T1 radios in 2 or 6 GHz. We got a bunch of them,they're solid.
 
Thanks for the advice. We're using barix boxes right now since we don't have line of sight at our current antenna locaiton. But we're moving in about a month. I'd rather get off the public internet for an STL if possible once we make that move.
 
all you need is a pair of nanostation m5's and you'll be in business.about 89.00 bucks a copy.work great.broadband wireless carrier here uses alot of them.
