Sports on FM? Maybe.
Rhythmic AC? Movin "moved" away from that.
Alternative? iHeart's actually fared well vs KROQ in LA, but I don't see much growth in that format for them.
KEXP is a factor - but in a sense, it's almost been two stations. Pre and post Summer 2020. Their FAQ admits as much, the "indie rock" focus of KCMU/earlier KEXP vs a more diverse format now. To their credit! It's working well and the ratings successes are admirable. But I don't view modern KEXP as a Triple A. Strictly speaking, it's not "alternative" in the sense Audacy or iHeart would know it either.
KEXP is more akin to the "Urban Alternative" format concept in some ways that's being promoted by Radio Milwaukee, Mike Henry/Paragon and others. It's a music discovery station with a very inclusive, listener driven mission. But it doesn't occupy a traditional Triple A space. You could pull up years of archives, put it on an HD2, and it would almost sound like a separate station/format from what it is today.
Audacy (Entercom at the time) had a Triple A in Seattle. KMTT - The Mountain. Solid radio station. Today, it's throwback rhythmic. I love the format, but there's just no room in the commercial model for it in Seattle, at least not from those operators. Having said that, if I were KBCS I'd be considering playing to that audience in a more cohesive way. Older demos and donor money. I could see a noncomm upper demo Triple A coexisting with modern KEXP.
I doubt 93.3 goes talk - is anyone at iHeart/Premiere really needing to clear Clay Travis and Buck Sexton in blue Seattle up against the KIRO/KTTH combo?
