LPAM, in a nutshell?

Hey guys. Sorry, its been so long since I've been able to read this board.

I had a question about this new LPAM bill/whatever:

What are going to be the power and spacing requirements?

What about the ownership rules? I know the LPFM rules were that the owner had to live within 5 miles (IIRC) of the COL, is this the case w/ LPAM?

And, about the live factor of the LPFM's, will a certain segment of the broadcast day need to be "manned"?

I'm here in Pennsy and I feel the AM band will be as crowded as the FM. There are no LPFM's that I know of, unless you head to South Jersey. There are two, one in Vineland, one in Ocean City.

Sorry to post if this has been discussed before, but I dont get over here as much as I would like. Thanks in advance.<P ID="signature">______________

Hi Bob,

Good to see you on the board.

This petition is RM-11287 and is actually 23 pages long. It has an ownership
cap of 12 nationally (which I think is too many); there are 2 variations on
the power levels; and I'm not totally sure about question 3 myself!

You can read the entire petition at http://www.lpam.ws.

William Walker also has information on his site at http://www.lpam.net.

I have a feeling that LPAM and Part-15 are two separate services. The petition
doesn't say "we want to change Part-15 rules to..."

There are others pn the board who know a lot more than I do. I'm too busy
with my station to be online all day.

Hope this helps!
