LPB TCU-30 Carrier Current Coupler

I'm lending a hand to a gent with with a LPB Transmitter and Carrier Current coupler for a school campus station and while he has the manual for their transmitter he can't locate the book for the coupler.

I may perform the repair to the coupler but neither of us have the manual and he prefers not to replace the coupler just due to the lack of budget for it. I'm looking for a copy of the manual, either a hard copy to borrow to help this guy out or a PDF copy. Hopefully this will help get the station back up for the kids.

I've been collecting LPB info. for a while now because it is getting harder and harder to find and I occassionally get called upon to fix some ot the stuff. In my collection I have manuals on the 30 and 60 watt solid state rigs and lots of their one sheets on setting up carrier current stations and performing neutral loading which are quite informative. The only thing I have on the coupler is a one page set of instructions on how to operate it which you are welcome to but which you probably already know. Let me know if you find the manual for the unit as I would like a copy.

I believe I have a working unit in my parts bin so if I can help identify any burned out or missing parts for you let me know.

I'll keep you in mind if I land a copy of the manual. I also acquired a supposedly working TCU-30 (in transit now) which I hope I can use as a comparison between the one my colleague has on its way to me. With luck I should be able to A/B the two but would eventually like to grab a copy of the manual for a file copy. I also picked up a Radio System CP-15 coupler so it would be interesting to compare the two designs side by side.

Bill,
I have a working TR-20 but no coupler.. :-\

Do you mean a TX20, which was the LPB 2-20 watt transmitter? If that's what you have and if you decide you want to get rid of it I can see if the gent at the school I'm helping would be interested in it. In my helping him I got the impression that his transmitter was fine but their coupler was on the fritz. Hopefully I can just compare the components of a working coupler to his and figure out where any failed parts are.

OK, that's the companion for the CP-15. I had the manual for that since I wanted the schematic for the coupler and it was included with the transmitter manual.

I'm still looking for documentation for the LPB TCU-30 coupler. At this point I would even settle for a high resolution picture of the board as the coil above the tap selector switch suffered from shipping damage and most of the wires are no longer in their respective places. It would be sort of a crap shoot to figure out where they belong otherwise.

Thanks to a gent who contacted me via my site I was able to procure a copy of the TCU-30 schematic and answered the question regarding the loose transformer.
