LPFM liability insurance

Any recommendations on liability insurance to protect our non-profit volunteer board? We're in the community doing all sorts of events and feel - in these litigious times - we should get some kind of protection. Also, what kind of an insurance broker would we talk to? We just took our donors on a boat cruise and the thought crossed our mind "what if the boat sinks?" ;)
Thanks for any input.

Mike

What you want is "Directors & Officers (D&O)" coverage. Every reasonable insurance company offers this coverage. You might have to make some tough decisions on the limits of the coverage, depending on how sizeable your operation is.

I don't think D&O is the kind of coverage the OP is asking about.

He's asking what their liability is if, during a station promotion, a member of the public is injured.

You may be looking at two insurance policies. One to cover your board members/station as it applies to day to day operation for people in your studio/office. This policy would be in effect 24/7/365. One to cover a special event, example a boat cruse or off premise event that would be in effect during the event for a limited time. This could even be a rider attached to your main insurance that you notify the insurance company when you have an event and they add extra coverage during that time. There could be an added cost for the extra coverage but it would be in effect very long.
