LPFM Renewal Time for Florida

Make sure you get your renewal application in and run the required statement. I will be interesting to see what happens to the LPFM in Ridge Manor.

I could be wrong, but I spoke to someone that runs a business in RM about 6 weeks ago and when I asked that person if they knew if and when 102.7 might return to the air and if they had filed an STA with the FCC; that person said that they were sure he hadn’t and then the comment was made: “that’s what happens when you have complete amateurs run a radio station”.

So my guess is unless he was sent the renewal form certified mail; it might be ignored, simply because he wouldn’t realize it’s importance or how to complete it. They have been down to the max......no stream and not on the air at all for at least 3 months.

They are building a new building about the same size or bigger than the original building and I’m thinking when that’s done he had planned on putting a new antenna on the new building; but if he doesn’t renew the license, his/Anchor Church’s LPFM will be an illegal station....it’s a shame.

No STA filed for the 102.7 LPFM

I dont think renewal forms are mailed.. you print them and mail themselves or you file electronically

I think you’re correct, which means WXIO is probably screwed; I just doubt anyone there knows anything about this; there must have been someone at some point that knew something about radio to get the station on the air to begin with, but I’m sure that advisor or person is long gone.

I did check (as you did) the FCC FM query site and there was no pending or viewing correspondence and no mention of an STA; I could try and call the church or station; last time I did, their voice mail was either full or hadn’t been set up; can’t recall. I think whoever is in charge of that station had no idea that it wasn’t something you just flip a switch and forget it. It has allowed me to listen to WVLG’s translator out of the Villages from time to time, since they are on the same frequency as WXIO. I also witnessed about a year ago, some volunteers from WXIO having a very loud and vocal discussion in a nearby parking lot complaining about how things were being run and this was about the time, when the programming went to total “automation”, no more recorded news or local interviews and about that same time, their affiliation and cross promotion with the weekly Ridge Manor News ceased.

Silent STA filed for WXIO filed today"

THE TOWER SUPPORTING THE ANTENNA FELL ON JUNE 7, 2019. IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT STATION OPERATIONS WILL BE RESTORED SHORTLY.

LPFMDatabase.com says they filed today, stating they went off the air September 7th but that the tower supporting their antenna fell June 7th. all I found however is the one line above in caps.
