LPGA golf Tour TV Coverage complaint

This is a e-mail I sent to the LPGA on tuesday:
I'm very upset that there was no TV coverage of the final round of the Master Card Classic LPGA tour event. I would like to know what can be done to prevent this type of thing to ever happen again. The final round of a LPGA Televised event should be aired live on TV not skipped. The LPGA screwed the viewers preventing us from seeing a great finish of this event. I'm not satisfied to see highlights of this on Golf Central on Golf channel. The LPGA better get is financial problems fixed or the LPGA stop airing TV coverage of your events until the tour has enough money. You guys suck for screwing thousands of viewers on Monday to see a great upset that happened. Thanks.
What happened was that a lot of rain delays to the event which caused the final round of this event to be held on Monday but for some reason the LPGA didn't have any money to but TV time so the final round can be aired live or on tape on Golf Channel. Viewers missed Meaghan Francella outlasted defending champion Annika Sorenstam in a four-hole, sudden-death playoff at the MasterCard Classic on Monday. I'm very upset that this happened because this is the first time I can recall something like this ever happening that a final round of a golf event doesn't get any live or tape delay TV coverage. If you are a LPGA fan, I would contact them about this so this doesn't happen again. This is not fair. Link: http://lpga.com/content_1.aspx?mid=0&pid=58 .

Maybe someone should complain to God about the rain delays, too. ::)

Toby- I think the 1st 2 rounds of the tournament WERE on the Golf Channel but the 3rd round wasn't. The tournamnet, I believe, was in Mexico and it is possible the camera and production crew were local and or under some sort of contract to televise only on specific dates.
But MAYBE the ratings on The Big Break are higher than the LPGA tournamnet itself.
Who Knows?
Who cares (obviously someone).

Yeah Julius. Maybe you should send a complaint email next time your local MLB team's game goes into rain delay mode while on ESPN and ESPN decides to stick with some equally exciting poker match or pool tournament till the end instead of returning to live action of the baseball game, thus causing you to miss the walkoff home run in the ninth inning.

In other words - Ever heard of SportsCenter Julius?? I hear it's a NIGHTLY sportscast on ESPN. How 'bout the FSN Final Score?? Do you watch that? It too is a nightly sportscast.

I've heard of complaining to the networks or the sponsors of their programming when it's deserved but *SHEESH!* ::)

That email wasn't evern worth the bandwidth used to send it IMO.

JMBO...

Cheers :D

The tournament WASN't delayed during actual play. The entire final round was extended to the next day (a Monday if I recall) and could have been aired by TGC. But it wasn't. And it would have made for good TV as there was a long playoff.
IF it had been a Champions Tour event, a Tour very heavilly promoted by TGC, the results would have probably different. And if I had my choice of watching grumpy old men riding around in golf carts, playing in less than a full field event (78 spots) with no cuts, I'd take the LPGA in a minute because their tour IS about competition.

All golf should be on the Golf Channel period.

What?! And deprive CBS the opportunity to show,
for approximately the four billionth time, the clip
of Jim Nantz pronouncing Tiger's win at the '97
Masters "a win for the ages"? ::)

I've never met anyone so into sports on the radio or tv.....

Golf announcers and reporters except for a few, are either hypsters or whoremasters for the sport. There are a lot of dirty dark secrets on the tours but the entourage of reporters (print/radio/TV) know where their bread is buttered or perhaps where their lobster (free) is sauteed. I always thought FOX would do a great job w/ golf (perhaps a series of live golf at night on lighted courses) with the players miked.
The golfers have never hit the ball any further in history than right now. Is there a similarity to baseball?
