LUBBOCK RATINGS

Well, it just goes to show, you never know till the book comes out.

With all the slamming I've been reading from you Lubbock radio "experts" against RAMAR, it appears RAMAR held it's own. And before you all start talking about how RAMAR got killed in the ratings, please consider ALL dayparts.
Not just 12+.

Yes, I know you all were right about KLLL dominating the market, but, isn't that really a no-brainer ? Way to go out on the limb there folks. Personally, I hate the format but I guess the format reflects the heritage of this market and this part of the country.

Back to RAMAR...

Across the board for morning drive, FOX TALK 950 is right there with KFYO and actually beat them morning's with P18-34.

STARS 104.3 with the troubled signal and all the internal problems STILL had a better book than any of you people gave credit for. Granted, it was'nt as good as the Spring-04 book but it was way better than the past Fall book. I must admit, it could'nt really have done anything BUT get better, and it did.
So, at least that is a step in the right direction.

And while Ramar's hispanic station's were'nt strong in the numbers, neither were any of the other of Lubbock's hispanic stations. So, no one can really say anything about that. I had to laugh when I read one girl's recent post about how she beat Magic's afternoon jock or maybe it was Magic's evening jock, regardless, the point was that she beat him even though she was only on for one night a week. Too funny. On the air ONE night a week ? How does she reason she was even a factor ?

I went back on this board and saw one post from a guy who noted that The FOX News Update wasn't playing at the top of the hour on STARS and that Delilah had the night off that night. And he reasoned it must mean the end of the line for STARS. Again, I had to laugh at the ignorance. Well, the STARS is still shining.

I hope all of you that speculated and spewed your unfounded gossip feel stupid right now because you could'nt have been more wrong.

If you all are going to rip on and spread unfounded or untrue statements about the Lubbock station's and owner's, there are definitely other tree's to be barking up.

Well believe it or don't. My one night a week is the whole reason the ratings were up in the first place. And now we're down but still beating them during that slot and that slot only. Now, while you attacked me and others here, I won't stoop to your level, but I will tell you this... The best is yet to come.

Oh and just so you know... Everyone gets their fair share of bashing. For a while there, it was all about how The Beat this and The Beat that. So, don't think your special. You might be cute, but you aren't special. Just something for you to chew on! Have a Great Day!

Nah..RAMAR is still laughable at best. They try..but still fail. Would Brad be happy with you posting on this site?

Well, seeing how it is a positive post about Ramar, I don't see why Brad would not be happy about me posting on this site.

What does that have to do with anything anyway ?

This is a board about radio isn't it ?

In addition, I post on my time, not the company's time.

And talk about laughable, how about your 2 line reply which addressed nothing specific about my post to begin with.

Well, if I came across as an attack, it really wasn't meant to be. I was voicing my opinion as you all do..except I actually backed mine up with facts.

I pointed out blatant ignorant statements that have been made by a few who obviously think they are some sort of radio experts of Lubbock. And to be fair, I have read some post's that make great sense and are helpful opinions.

I actually came on here with the intent of exchanging ideas of sort, but, after reading the RAMAR bashing which has yet to backed up with any facts, I felt I had to defend with facts. Which I did. Sorry if I stepped on any sensitive toes.

And I still challenge your statement of carrying your time slot's numbers based on being on-air only ONE night per week. I'd like to see some fact to back that up. And I'd be the first to admit I'm wrong. <P ID="signature">______________
