Lubbock to get another AM simulcast on FM

From All Access:
http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/a...nte-sells-washington-state-am-emf-sells-lubbo

EMF is selling one of it's Lubbock translators (99.1) to Walker Communications. KJDL AM will be simulcasted on the FM translator. All Access indicates the AM station is 'classic country', but from the website, it is News Radio 1420 and/or Farm to Market Radio 1420. I'm not in Lubbock, and the 'Listen Live' link seems to be dead (great website...) If it's news or ag radio, I wonder where All Access got classic country.

Any thoughts?

The 'Listen Live' link pulled right up for me this morning. Appears to be classic country. Will a translator make any real impact?

The website of 1420 is awful!!!!

Last time I heard it went from news to "the Rebel" classic country. I guess it changed to Farm? I had no idea but I do not listen to AM radio much. It's funny that the old 1420 news radio logo still pops up on that site.

Now back to the topic regarding 99.1. I think 99.1 here in Lubbock is kind of a wasted frequency that we have EMF to thank for (aka the open frequency hogs). I live on the west side of town and my car radio does not pick it up very well...but if it gives 1420 a little bit more exposure, more power to them. I'm just glad the frequency is going to someone that actually needs the coverage. I will not miss having 3 Air 1's in town.

Speaking of translators. I tuned into 94.1 and was hearing KGNZ out of Abilene. Perhaps they are getting rid of the 88.5 translator?

Maybe they did that to buy KLTO.

More like why do they need translators when they're getting full power sticks in the same areas super cheap?
