Hey,
has anyone noticed the weather wars going on in Lubbock televsion right now?
I noticed that KCBD was saying that they were "first on and last off." Then during a rather large hail storm two weeks ago (that dented my new car), KCBD stayed mostly with NBC's Today show, with ony a few cut-ins, while KAMC had wall to wall coverage (not a KCBD bashing, just stay with me on this one). Meanwhile, KJTV barely had coveragge, since Brian takes the weekends off, and weather coverage is provided by canned forcasts from Accuweather (yeah, that FoxForce Doppler he keeps promoting works real nice when nobodies there....
Anyway, I noticed the next day, KAMC had a proof of product (POP) promo that that said "While others claim to be first on and last off, KAMC 28 means it"(or something to that effect).
Now, today, we have yet another round of severe weather, and Ron Roberts was actually on at 3:30pm sitting in front of an empty radar map, just before any weather broke out. Just before he left the air, the National weather service issued a Tornado watch. Sure enough, we are now covered with clouds and severe weather.
Thoughts?
