I am coming off of mid-days effective 02/03/07.
Ratings are posted. All-Access and Radio and Records (of course I'm just talkin' 12+.
It's too bad Ron is coming off the air. The rest of the station sounds so 'rock' and/or amatuer... They should've kept Ron and removed everyone else (esp. whoever programs that station)

I second the notion regarding KZII...I only catch the station passing through on my way to and from Amarillo on occasion but it really is sad to see such a decline in the quality of talent on there...pretty much the same situation in Amarillo at Power... Everybody that actually sounded like solid top 40 jocks aren't there anymore. Who's the guy that sounds like he smokes 5 packs a day on pm drive...didn't I hear him on FMX too? What's the story with him? and the morning show...who is on there now? What happened to Chris and Dina? and Kidd Carson?

Chris is now in Jackson, Miss (as Bender on Y). Dina is no longer working in radio (her choice.) Kidd Carson is now doing middays at 103-3 Kiss FM in Odessa-Midland (as AJ.)
A lot of 'talent' on Z102 now is recycled FMX talent. Maybe that's why they have such a rock-style delivery. Maybe. Funny too, I see that FMX dropped a lot in the 12+ too. Also KQBR fell a bit. I was happy to see last book that The Bear topped KLLL, but that was reversed this time around.
Maybe if nothing is done, everything will just fix itself.

Major under-sampling of males this time around, which caused an oversized
wieghting of the numbers. This pretty much brought everybody down. KLLL
took the 12-24 cell and the 18-34.. BEAR made major gains in females which put
them in the top 3. 25+ from 6a-7pm BEAR is the clear winner. TSL up, Cume down due to the crappy sampling.
Check Amarillo's 12+ on Allaccess. Not one shift in rankings, and barely any changes in actual numbers. Looks like ARB just re-released the last book.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the person who programs Z102. What WAS wrong...was the FACT that KID CARSON ran that damn station into the ground. You can't walk into your office and press the ENTER button on your powergold software and expect the station to be programed worth a crap. This is what that guy did.
The person who programs that station....bust their ass...when it comes to programming etc....

Just an FYI, This is thread is 4 months old, and is in reference to ratings that were posted for the winter. Ron has been off of Z102 for a while now as has been Kid Carson. Z102 (at last check) is programmed by Jackie from the Max, Jax and Armen show, and has been for a couple of months now.

No...its not a matter of defending the Z. However, when I see a comment that is absolutely INSANE....about someone I know....I have to say something. I would imagine you would do the same.

I TOTALLY understand that this is an OLD thread. However, the comment in the thread regarding the idea of RON staying, the rest of the staff being let go....especially the PD....was insane.
These comments are being made by people who have no clue on what is going on within the building. I would be surprised if 50% of the people commenting on those working in RADIO...actually worked in radio.
