PARTY 105 IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

in rotation on this station (Fun 107)?...It wasn't in rotation until this past week...being played as new music, but yes you are right about the mixshows and that it has been played on the supermix on saturdays since last year..
Are you from Southern New England and able to listen to this station?

LOL! Your info is incorrect!

Perhaps my info was incorrect about the station rotations. I'll take a look at Mediabase as well. Dum-de-dum-dum-dum...

Hmmm... I could have sworn that they did add it earlier. Let's see... According to Mediabase, it was first detected at WFHN in February 26, 2006. Yet that may or may not be station rotation. That could have been detected within the weekend mixshow or during one of those "Pump It Or Dump It/Is It A Hit or Is It *hit/Jam It or Slam It" type of nightly features. It was a Sunday night though.

Being one of the best-sounding dance/CHRs in the nation, I would have figured that they did add this into rotation earlier. Go figure. In any case, I do know for a FACT that it was playing in the mixshows for several months since the track came out in 2005. It should occasionally pop up in the recent weekly mixes as a recurrent as well. No, I do not live in New England, but let's just say that I have had an "in" at Fun 107 for the past couple of years. [grin]

This has been one of my favorite radio stations for a long time. If only KISS-FM here in Chicago was more like FUN 107... Of course, I'd prefer the return of ENERGY-- but I haven't won the lottery yet! LOL
______________

i didn't mean to sound sarcastic...now that you said it was a sunday night, i know exactly why it was played....at that time (Sunday at 10-11pm) new hits now was still being aired on Fun and was probably played then...so glad that show was dumped...it was awful...WRZE Nantucket 96.3 The Rose is decent as well for a dance song or 2

I wish Energy 92.7&5 was still on the air...i used to listen online all the time

Weird questions, off topic pvdboi

At times, I drive through Rhode Island en route to New Bedford and sometimes I cut through Newport in order to do it.

As you know my love for dance music has no boundaries and often enough I do some wacky left field thinking to see if, somehow, a buzz can be generated. So with that in mind, here is one weird question...and I say this because in my mind I have a feeling if some sort of craze can happen, it has to happen somewhere small.

1) Do you listen to drum and bass?
2) If so could an area such as Newport, especially during the summer with the tourists coming in and all, work with such a scene?

I know the area is big with jazz (The Newport Jazz Festival is world renowned) and blues. I'm just wondering if such a buzz could be created, if it could work in an area like that?

Thanks,
TONY SANTIAGO

I didn't think that you sounded sarcastic. Just stating an observation. Nothing wrong with that, right? It's all good. :-D

"New Hits Now"? Never heard of the show. Seems like I was lucky, huh?

Thanks for the tip about WRZE. Never heard of them until you mentioned it!
______________

Re: Weird questions, off topic pvdboi

a station playing only drum and bass?...probabaly not...the unique thing about Rhode Island though is its size as you all know...that being said, a decent powered station in the Providence or Newport area would cover the entire state plus parts of Mass and CT...i believe a station ala 95.3 Party say back in 2000-2002 would def work here as it has in the past with the old WWKX KIX 106 (that was an awesome station)...Boy if we could transplant WDRE Party 105 to this area with a good signal, i think we'd have a def winner...the audience is here for a station of that format...i often take rides down toward SW RI and SE CT to listen to party 105

Re: Weird questions, off topic pvdboi

there's a club in Downtown Providence called Diesel (used to be called The Strand)very similar if not better than Avalon Boston hosting quite a few events this month into next month...Junior Vasquez last friday...4/14 anthony Acid...4/21 George Acosta...4/28 Louie DeVito...5/5 DJ Sammy...5/12 Chris Cox...5/19...Hex Hector...5/26 Skribble...6/2 Darude...4/30 Joe Bermudez...

So as i said in a previous post, there is def a market for a station(s) playing these types of music here in Southern New England.

check it out http://dieselri.com

They use a lot of SupeRadio programming, since I believe their current PD worked for them.
______________

I wasn't thinking of a radio station playing the music. Just starting some sort of buzz in the clubs there with drum and bass, somehow, which could eventually pick up into some sort of vibe going on (like Haight-Ashbury in San Franciso during the 60's) that could eventually translate to a bigger scene, ya know. New York, L.A., Chicago are too big of markets to attempt this. That's why I was thinking something small.

Like I said, my left field thinking. :)
