LUCY ARTICLE (TV GUIDE PRINT THIS WEEK)

Lucy had her 100th birthday this year and the 60th anniversary of I Love Lucy.

TV Guide has an article this week where daughter Lucie Arnaz is interviewed.
Here are some tidbits from Lucie.

Desi Arnaz (the son) was pictured as an infant on the first TV Guide cover.

She was never in the show but Lucy was pregnant with her in the pilot episode.

Lucie's favorite episode is Lucy Takes A Trip To Havana (11/6/57). Lucy's two
favorite episodes were the one where she tell Ricky she was having a baby (12/8/52).
They (Desi/Lucy) both got so teary eyed they wanted to do the scene over, but
the staff said NO.

Lucky also liked where she was queen of the gypsies (The Operetta - 10/13/52).
Neither of those episodes would make the poster's top 30.

Lucy enjoyed working in TV and hated having to give it up. Lucie says, "I watched
her deteriorate emotionally." (when she lift TV).

She didn't cook very well but enjoyed being in the kitchen.

Lucy was "opinionated and professorial" off-camera.

Lucie enjoyed doing dance numbers with her mom on Here's Lucy (lasted 6 years).

Lucie says the writing and execution are what has kept I Love Lucy going for so long.

If Lucy were around today she would enjoy the antics of Ellen DeGeneres, Debra
Messing and Tina Fey.

IIRC, in the episode where Lucy learns she's pregnant, they did
the scene twice; once where Desi cheers, and once where he
breaks down in tears. The audience thought his breaking down was
more effective and that's the scene they used. And it was indeed
the right choice.
