Lucy Noland

I saw a promo for Lucy Noland on the 5:00 news today. She will appear with Greg Hurst on the 5 and 10 news on Monday. According to the announcement on the website http://www.khou.com/news/local/stories/khou070411_mh_lucynoland.104e987d.html she replaces Lisa Foronda. She comes from WNYW-TV, the same station Len Cannon, who replaced Jerome Gray, is from. IIRC Greg Hurst came from WABC-TV too back in '99. (Alot of New Yorkers involved during this switch!)

Why are they messing with such a good thing by introducing her? I thought Len Cannon replaced Lisa Foronda and Jerome Gray, the previous two people in his position? Greg Hurst and Len Cannon go together very well. (Although someone who could say San Antonio correctly is an improvement by itself!) Someone mentioned here that it was too strange for two men to anchor a newscast together. Is there anything wrong with it since that was the norm before women were on camera?

WFAA had 2 guys anchoring behind the desk-John McCaa and Tracy Rowlett (The latter moved on to anchor KTVT, he's now retired.) Their chemistry has made WFAA-DFW's #1 TV station-has been #1 for the past 30 years. McCaa now works with Gloria Campos. I think Lucy will be a good fit KHOU, she'll fit in with BOTH Greg & Len, so I believe it won't be long Len will be paired with Shern-Min for the 6'Oclock 11 News.

Actually Tracy Rowlett is not retired yet. He stopped anchoring the 10pm but does anchor the earlier newscats (5, 6pm) until he retires this summer.

Also before McCaa-Rowlett it was Rowlett-Criswell and Rowlett-Moody. WFAA has had a long line of male-male anchor teams.
