Wow, I was never a huge fan of the Zone but, since there's not a lot of choice for rock stations right now, I was listing to the Loop last week. I can't stand Zakk Tyler in the afternoon on the Loop, Anyone ever notice even the way he says "ninetty seven ninnnne the loop " is annoying!!! I miss the days of good afternoon drive guys like Lou Brutus!! He always kept ya listening. The Loop needs some personality. Anyone agree??

I totally agree i liked freak in the afternoons. I think the loop needs a whole makeover.
 
Then for god's sake don't listen on a Friday afternoon when he is "live" at a bar!

I hate to rip on someone like this...but he sounds totally out of place!

It actually sounds like he has no knowledge about the music he is playing...in fact he sounds like he doesn't like it....whether he does or not...perception is reality!

I agree, Lou Brutus and a host of others would sound better!

I happen to think he is pretty funny. Lou was good but sometimes he really seemed to go on a bit too long. Zakk is pretty tight on his breaks and funny. I think he does know the music but I don't think we need a prof of rock in afternoon drive. It sure beats listening to Steve Dahl rambling around trying to find a point. As for the ZONE and Q101 I think their ratings speak for themselves. Give him a listen and if you don't like it you can live in the past on 94.7.

This station is a joke!!!! The number 1 rock band in the country is Disturbed and The Loop is ignoring them. You would have thought that a rock band from Chicago with the number 1 cd on the charts would get played on CHICAGO'S ROCK STATION!!!!!!!!!! This just proves that The Loop is way outta touch with Rock radio.

Only thing I ever listen to on The Loop is Dr. Demento. Otherwise for rock/alternative its WLUM Milwaukee (Alternative) Q-101, WIIL and 97.3 The Brew<P ID="signature">______________

Well, if The Zone was so good, it should have done better than the low to mid 1 share they were getting, and wouldn't have been dead last in billing.

You can use the billing argument if you want, but the ratings argument is pretty much null and void as The Zone, The Loop, and Q were pretty much right around each other for the past year sometimes trading off.

Mancow is the only thing keeping Q101 alive right now.
People in Chicago just don't want to hear new rock.
Chicago loves their old rock!

Who said the Zone was so good? I was just saying how bad the Loop sounded!! The Loop needs to mix it up a little. Maybe a play list similar to 96.7 Will Rock before they got the ax, and some people with some frigin personality!

Chicago RADIO LISTENERS loves their old rock!

Chicago NEW (active and modern) ROCK fans know that ROCK RADIO is dead and have already migrated to Satelite's, Internet Radio and IPOD's. ROCK on the radio is dead, ROCK fans have given up on commercial radio.

As Metallica once said "SAD BUT TRUE".

I migrated about 3 years ago to satelite radio. If it wasn't for Mac, Jurko and Harry I wouldn't have a reason to listen to Chicago radio at all.
Even with the Zone, there are alot of bands and songs that they didn't touch.
