Luther Vandross(1951-2005)

You may not be aware that Vandross was a member of the teenage "Street Chorus" group on the very first episodes of "Sesame Street" in September, 1969.

I was not aware of that--thanks.

Luther also was the singing voice of ABC's "Zack of All Trades" interstitials on Saturday mornings. He also was heard on WNBC-TV's first promos introducing the "News 4 New York" format in the fall of 1980, and sang backup on NBC's "Proud as a Peacock" promos that same year.
