Macabre Theatre

Sometimes I'll watch Macabre Theater on KHIZ on Saturday Nights because I like horrible movies just as much as the next person. The visual quality of the movies vary. Most times they're o.k. but a couple of weeks ago I was watching Satan's School for Girls and the quality was just awful. The glare was too bright, there were hair-like effects throughout the screen, white spots flashed on and off at times and the sound level changed at times.
What causes one movie to be broadcast so poorly and another one to look much better, on the same station?

Could be one of two things or both. Poor source material
or bad playback equipment. KDOC in Orange County has a schedule
loaded with reruns of old 70's and 80's series and most look
just awful. I can't subscribe to the reason being poor source
material as most of these shows have been remastered for DVD sales.
So it's got to be poor equipment...

Or they are still running them as 16mm dupes.

Nah, I think KDOC rocks! I happen to like the daytime schedule and to me the visual quality is really good. Better than PAX.
Plus I get a kick out of the nursing commercials. " Britney? Jessica! I haven't seen you since graduation, how's it going? "
Wonderful.
