So... MGK is about to release a pop-punk album.
At least one of the singles, Bloody Valentine, is in very heavy rotation on both of the Alt stations here in Los Angeles.
I have to say, compared to most of the other new tracks this year, the is one of a minority that actually sounds like it belongs on an Alt station. I'm really excited for the album to drop and hope it does well (it helps he has name recognition). I think more singles like this would make Alt rock stations more attractive, as it fits in much better alongside the older stuff.
It's jarring to think that Billy Eilish can be played alongside MGK doing pop-punk, but that's 2020 for you.
