Mack Sanders' Offspring

I'm know a guy who is friends with what turns out to be Mack Sanders' grandson. I was blown away! I asked him if he was in radio and he told me that it wasn't in his blood. He told me his dad is on a syndicated talk show in Nashville, the Phil Valentine Show. Anybody remember Mack? And did his son ever do radio here?
If he's the personality like his dad was,man we need him in Wichita right now. I was so sad when I heard that Mack passed on. He was truly a great broadcaster.

That would be Johnny B.,who is Phil Valentine's sidekick. The two of them are based out of Nashville,Tennessee and syndicated across the country on Westwood One. I know both of them and they are first class people. By the way gomzob,I see you have posted on boards in other markets, defending Mr. Valentine's show. Are you some guy who wants Johnny's job on Phil's show? If you live in Nashville or Atlanta I find it very doubtful that Johnny B's son would even know you. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone in Kansas will hire Johnny away.

Wichita does not need a lying, cheating, crook, con-man like his old man. Mack swindled a lot of hard working people out of a lot of money. It was amazing he avoided prison, but he sweet talked a jury out of convicting him for bankruptcy fraud. In Hutchinson the I.R.S. and the F.C.C. showed up the same day and locked the place up. He almost destroyed KVGB AM & FM, he did destroy KWHK-AM, and then he packed his bags and took his medicine show act to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Larry Steckline learned his tricks of the trade from Mack. Yeah, we need a lot more broadcasters like MACK.

Mack was a good musician and on-air talent.

I never knew Mr. Sanders but Johnny seems like a straight shooter. He seems interested in the creative side of radio and not the management side. He has said that he parted ways with his dad in the early 90's because he didn't agree with his business tactics. As far as I can tell,if you wear a suit and a tie,Johnny's allergic to you. Sad to hear his dad has such a bad reputation.

Mack's daughter is in Nashville, where she does promotion. Always found her to be a decent woman. Used to work for the Country Music Association.
