Mackie D 8 B

My station just picked up a new Mackie D 8 B console with onboard recording. It's actually several years old, but fresh out of the box. Anybody using one? Do you like it, think it's a stable recording-production piece? Looking at it I'm thinking that Adobe Audition has made it obsolete from a functional standpoint, but it would make a good mixing board. Don't really feel a need to learn another system right now. Opinions welcome..
