Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Coverage Ends Abruptly

Did anyone catch the live broadcast of the Macy's Parade on NBC? Someone screwed up somewhere and the parade coverage ended abruptly as one of the commentators were talking. They had to cut to commercial so they could show the National Dog Show at Noon. Anyone know what happened?

That may have been a local station thing. They may have cut out early.

What I saw was Santa Claus, who is the traditional end of the parade, the credits roll, right to the copyright, and a note that the Dog Show would start in 2 minutes. Then commercials. Nothing abrupt.

Ditto here just a few seconds ago on the West Coast tape-delay. Santa, credit roll, copyright, Dog Show promo and into a promo for KING 5's Home Team Harvest. Had to be a local station somewhere having that problem...

Usually what happens is Santa comes into Herald Square amid much fanfare...which did occur and then a camera shot to the commentators say how great the parade was, give Holiday greetings, plug the next show and then a minute long credit roll. They started rolling the credits which were very brief while they were continuing to talk about Santa and interrupted Matt Lauer as he was describing the scene. Cut, go to 2 minute break. It just didn't feel right. Just saw a clip of the West Coast version on Youtube and it was edited to come out smooth.

Nope. It was on the East/Central feed....saw the same thing on KXAS in Dallas.

Who is your local NBC affiliate TheBigA? You must live in probably Mountain time since your reply was before Santa Claus' arrival on our West Coast TV screens (taped of course). I kept flipping between Macy's and CBS' Macy's up near the CBS headquarters which didn't have a lot of the musical/Rockette stuff, just more interviews and talk.
