Madden

Listening to Madden late yesterday, and one of his callers (Madden seems to take a bunch o' calls) claimed that Hients Wart had 'gotten' Madden fired at another station for dissing Wart. Madden did not refute this, saying "yeah?".

Did Ward actually 'get him fired'?? If so, from where?

Thanks

Madden fantasy. He had been on the Channel 4 Sunday night sports discussion show. Channel 4 took him off the air after they had some issues with things he said. He claimed the Steelers put pressure on the station to take him off and claimed that started with Hines Ward. Always easier to invent a conspiracy theory than admit they dumped you.

definitly madden has some issues. he had been warned by mgmt. but a slip in judgement led to his eae demise. the problem is his obvious grudge holding attitude. he just can't let go and move on. it's clear to the listener that if he feels wronged by anyone, athlete, writer, mgt, media legend or caller, he's going to let them have it with both barrels. but, with that in mind, that's why people like to listen to him. take that away and he's just another talking head. i thought the kennedy comment firing was a bit ticky-tacky, but then i don't know all the details. it used to fun to listen to him. if they can dump the music crap in his x show, i'll be back.

Local management did not initiate Madden's firing over the Kennedy comments, that started in Bristol the next day when they heard the MP3 of the show. In fact several members of local management were called on the carpet for not taking immeidate action. Its wasn't the Kennedy comment itself that got Madden canned but his whole history with the company that did him in.

That history continues to follow him around. None of his callers on the X are live and his producer has the final say on what airs and when. Rohm loves his numbers, but even he isn't stupid enough to trust Madden.

Does anyone here listen to The Mark Madden show (other than my sporadic tuning in)??

Lately, Madden and his callers have been calling Mark "The Perfect 10". He was "Mr 8.5" within 'Madden Nation' when 1250's ratings were that high. "The X"s latest book wasn't really that high. Could his individual numbers be that good?

Just wonderin'... I'm enjoying his show lately (what else is on? The Drivel, Honz, Mothership Cannon?? - NFG), especially the return of Glen Gilbernetti as "Randal Tivo", alcoholic "NFL Replay Official". The occasional "Ask Mark Anything", a sometimes quite funny closing segment, makes me smile/laugh enough to overcome the often dreadful song rotation thrown at us by The X. The Bob Oriley era was the last time it was worth listening all day/night...

Yea, Bob was on K-Rock. What a great time. Its like the whole station was drunk and partying whenever I was, until they started the whole talk thing. What a way to destroy a cool station.
