http://www.allaccess.com/Madison's Winter Book 2006 are now public (see link above, click on Arbitron):Clear Channel: * WZEE, WIBA AM, WIBA FM - 3 stations in the top 5 in the market.Mid-West Family: * WMGN, WWQM, WJJO - 3 stations in the top 6 in the market (WHLK - 4 in the top 10). * WLMV-AM - Had a really nice bump up. * WJJO - Also, had a nice bump up.Entercom: * WOLX, WCHY, WMMM - 3 stations in the top 10 in the market. * WOLX - In the top 10, but saw a drop down. What do other people think?

I'm not sure of the exact date the ratings period took place, but it had to have been after WMAD changed from alternative to country (that flip took place just before Christmas). It's noticed on the results of three stations:* WMAD had a bump-up, most certainly from those who sampled the new format.* Country incumbent Q106, while still strong, had its lowest numbers in the past 5 books.* Long-time active rocker WJJO, meanwhile, had a gigantic jump, welcoming those who turned off WMAD after its flip.

Regarding CC, given the ratings of its' Madison stations - I wonder if we'll ever see?: * WIBA-AM - Local / conservative talk programming move to the 92.1 FM frequency (but the call letters WIBA-AM would obviously stay at 1310 AM). This would put Brewers and Badgers basketball and hockey games on the FM dial. It ranks in the top 4 in the market on AM - just imagine what a shift to FM would do for its' rankings. * WTSO-AM - ESPN sports programming move to 1310 AM and take on the WIBA-AM call letters. This station would air the Packers AM coverage for CC - and would be a natural fit for a sports station. * WXXM-FM - Progressive / Liberal talk programming move to 1070 AM. On the AM dial, this would be near public radio's WPR-Ideas Network talk programming, which would be a good fit for WXXM's prog/lib listeners.

It's been awhile since I've last been to Madison, but what happened to WTDY???A couple years ago, it was a fairly decent local liberal talk station. Now, just barely hanging on with nearly a one share 12+.I wonder if Mid-west Family will end up pulling the plug on WTDY in favor for WLMV's Spanish language programming when they have to shut one of the signals down. Afterall, it's got to be cheaper to run a music station as opposed to a station that has a fair share of local talk programming.

Why in the world would you wnat to move a goos prefroming AM station to a Class A FM? The move of EXXm to 1070 might be interesting.Out of all 1070 has the best signal with 10kW days.

1q2w3e,You do make a good point - point well taken.Although, given: * That most people under 40 don't even know where the AM band button is on their vehicle. * The proliferation of mp3 players having only FM. * The night-time coverage of an FM station. * The sound clarity of an FM station. If I were CC, I'd still be looking to plug their WIBA-AM N/T programming content somewhere on the FM dial.
